Weekly practice based on reading and listening lessons
授業の目的
/Class Purpose
この授業ではディプロマポリシーの中でも (1) 実践的で高度な外国語の適用できる (2) 言語の基礎にある多様な社会、文化、歴史、政治、経済などについて幅広い知識や教養を身に付けることができる (3) 教養現場で効果な英語に関する体系的で専門的知識と指導法を習得することができる ことを目的としている  In this course, the ability to understand and use basic conversational English will be developed. A special emphasis will be placed on finance, especially personal finance. The special vocabulary common to Business English will be studied.

To be able to
(1) understand and use common English business vocabulary
(2) think about personal finance and its effect on our lives
(3) plan for future financial developments
We will also develop
1) a knowledge of foreign economies that will assist students in finding jobs at Japanese offices of major foreign companies

授業の進め方
/Method of Instruction
Lessons are structured around the different cultural and business environments students will encounter in selected countries. Discussion of how business practices differ in these countries and Japan will be guided by the instructor. There will also be a weekly discussion about personal finance and financial ideas.

Attendance and active participation in each class is mandatory.  Students are expected to use only English in the classroom. Online classes can be found at https://classroom.google.com/c/NDU0MTIxMzY0MDEw?cjc=nhccl74
授業時間外に必要な学修
/Expected Work outside of Class
Students will be responsible for all online homework assignments. Each student will also be responsible for one oral report regarding one of the countries studied. Students should expect to spend approximately 60 minutes each week to complete this work.

成績評価方法・基準
/Grading Method・Criteria
Class discussion is extremely important, and grades will reflect the degree to which each student has helped to make the class more interesting and useful. 60% of the total grade will be based on weekly homework assignments and 40% on the oral report.
