授業の目的 /Class Purpose |
PURPOSE: The purpose of this subject is to have students learn to acquire advanced skill for English communication as well as learn to acquire the power of communication to work with people who speak a language other than Japanese cooperatively. The two aims correspond to the diploma policy No.1 and No.2 of the Faculty of Global Communication. |

GOALS: After taking this class, students 1) will be able to communicate in English fluently with people whose mother tongue is not Japanese, 2) will learn to cooperate with people in the international environment using English effectively, and 3) will learn to cope with various tasks in the international setting by communicating effectively in English. |

CLASS MANAGEMENT: Style of the learning/teaching in this class will vary according to each subject to be dealt with. However, in most cases, students will experience a so-called "active learning" style, preceded by a tutor's introduction of the subject. |

FURTHER NOTE: Below is just the sample of the first two weeks of the Cambridge University program. These types of classes will continue normally for 10 weeks. All class activities of these 10 weeks constitute the whole integrated course, but 1/3 (a little more than 90 hours) of the class activities will be regarded as relevant activities for the subject of Advanced English Conversation. *STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY WHERE CLASSES ARE OFFERED. THIS APPLIES TO ALL PROGRAMS FOR THE ENGLISH COURSE. *研修中に研修実施国から離れ外国に行くことは一切許されません。これはすべての研修先において同じです。研修先で授業が実施されない期間に日本から家族の方が来られた場合でも、一緒に研修国以外の国に出かけることは一切許されません。 |

At least 60 minute study time will be needed outside the class for each class hour. |

Students will be frequently asked to submit reports and challenge presentation. Online activities will be also assigned. Feedback for these activities will be offered at each tutor's office. |
