授業の目的 ／Class Purpose	この授業ではディプロマポリシーの中でも (1) 実践的で高度な外国語の適用できる (2) 言語の基礎にある多様な社会、文化、歴史、政治、経済などについて幅広い知識や教養を身に付けることができる (3) 教養現場で効果な英語に関する体系的で専門的知識と指導法を習得することができる ことを目的としている。In this course, the ability to understand and use basic conversational English will be improved. The special vocabulary common to Business English will be mastered.
到　達　目　標 ／Class Objectives	To be able to (1) understand and use common English business vocabulary (2) identify differences between Japanese and foreign business cultures (3) act appropriately and effectively in selected foreign business environments To give students 1) a knowledge of foreign economies that will assist them in finding jobs at Japanese offices of major foreign companies

授業の進め方 ／Method of Instruction	Lessons are structured around the textbook and weekly online videos.
履修するにあたって ／Instruction to Students	Attendance and active participation in each class is mandatory.  Students are expected to use only  English in the classroom. 授業時間外に必要な学修 ／Expected Work outside of Class	Students will be responsible for all online homework assignments in addition to weekly discussion sessions. Students should expect to spend approximately one hour each week outside of class to review  the vocabulary for quizzes and prepare for the weekly discussion session.
提出課題など ／Quiz,Report,etc	Online assignments must be submitted by the due date on the course website. Each student will be responsible for participation in one or two weekly discussion sessions. Questions regarding  homework should be directed to Professor Schalow at ijinkan@mac.com
成績評価方法・基準 ／Grading Method・Criteria	60% of the grade will be based on weekly quizzes, 40% on participation in a weekly discussion session, with class attendance.
